Degrees Offered

The college offers the following degrees and programs. More programs and degrees will be introduced in the future. All the degree courses will be residential. The College follows modular systems.

BACHELOR OF THEOLOGY

The Bachelor of Theology (B.Th.) is a three-year undergraduate course. The program serves as a foundational course in terms of academic, spiritual formation, and ministerial training for effective Christian ministry.

Eligibility

  1. The candidate should have completed 18 years of age.
  2. The candidate must have successfully completed 10+2 or its equivalent.
  3. Candidates who have passed 10th standard and have done a two-year course such as C.Th/G.Th/Dip.TH. may also be considered.
  4. Candidates who are awaiting 10+2 results may also apply. Such candidates will be granted provisional admission. They must provide proof of successful completion of 10+2 before the October break if not their admission will be cancelled.
  5. Mature candidates must be at least 25 years old, have a minimum qualification of 10th standard, and have at least two years of ministerial experience.

MASTER OF DIVINITY

The Master of Divinity (M.Div.) is a three-year post-graduate degree course. The course is designed to help students gain extensive theological knowledge and ministry skills. The course prepares students for pastoral ministry and other church or mission-related organizations. It is also an important course for those who are interested in teaching ministry. Students with an M.Div. degree are eligible to pursue higher studies (M.Th.) and to teach B.Th. courses.

Eligibility

  1. Two years for students with B.Th. degree from the Senate of Serampore College or an ATA accredited institution with minimum B grade.
  2. Three years for:
    • B.Th. degree with a B- grade and below from an ATA accredited institution.
    • BA/B.Sc./B.Com. or its equivalent and above from a recognized university (UGC or equivalent). Applicants who are in the final year of their graduation course may also apply, provided they produce their pass certificate before the October break. Until then, they will be given provisional admission, which can be cancelled if they cannot produce the required certificates.
    • A candidate who has passed 10+2 and has a B.Th. degree from a non-ATA institution with a B grade. Such candidates would have to write a qualifying exam for three papers, namely, Biblical Studies, Christian Ministry and Theology. They can be admitted to the course only if he/she passes the entrance requirements.
    • Mature candidates (30 years and above) with experience in any church ministry. Candidates would have to write an entrance exam to be admitted for the course.
    • If a candidate is pursuing M.Div. at another ATA-accredited institution and wishes to transfer to the college, he/she must provide a valid reason and an NOC from the previous institution.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

Application for admission to any of the college programs may be obtained from the office of WTC on payment of a nominal non-refundable fee as an application and processing charge. The duly filled application form and the relevant documents must be submitted to the office by the given deadline. The last date of submission with all the necessary documents is before January 31. Application sent after the last date will be required to pay a late fee.

ENTRANCE/QUALIFYING EXAM

Any applicant seeking admission for B.Th and M.Div courses must appear for an entrance examination which covers areas such as Bible Knowledge, General Knowledge, and English, followed by a personal interview. Candidates must secure minimum 60% marks in the exam to be selected. The Entrance Exam will be held in the month of March for the ensuing year and the result will be declared in the month of April.

Admissions are open for academic session 2026-2027 for Bachelor of Theology and Master of Divinity.
